Arma's Junior Bathing Beauty Contest has been a staple of the VJ Homecoming since the celebration began in 1947. Moms asked if we could include wee ones for this year's event, and of course, we had to say yes because it is a baby contest after all. Twenty four trophies will be awarded to the top 3 girls and top 3 boys in these four age categories: 6 to 11 months, 1 year old, 2 years old and 3 years old. Contestants must wear swimsuit attire. (No fancy pageant gowns :)
This year's event is 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14 at the northwest part of Arma City Park. Registration is free and begins at 1:30 p.m. Chairpersons are Joyce Klinkon, Rita DeGruson and Cindy Neeley.
